The painter’s sentiment for the streets and alleys inhabited by the Jewish poor was shared with his friend and a photographer Jan Bułhak (1876-1950), who initially took photos as an amateur under the persuasion of Ferdynand Ruszczyc. In 1912-1919 Jan Bułhak prepared a photographic documentation of Vilnius architecture.
