The fragment of the painting Old Vilnius II shows a poor and cramped yard. Stanisław Bohusz-Siestrzeńcewicz didn’t paint representative streets or edifices. For him, the charm of the city was hidden in the narrow streets, the peeling walls of the tenement houses, the numerous outhouses and double-gable roofs with little windows.
