In Dance, the artist uses a wide range of formal solutions which were indicative of Art Nouveau trends in Europe at the time. These included fluid, restless lines, linearity (a preference for flat rather than modelled planes), fragmentedness, asymmetry, a pale, pastel colour scheme and a liking for floral ornaments.
